Q: I wear orthotics and my feet are extremely sensitive to changes in my footwear. I'm wearing the 940 right now and would like to know if the 1260 has the same feel/fit. The outdoor New Balance 956 that I sometimes wear are very hard in comparison to the 940 and give me sore feet.

A: Hi Darlene - sorry for the late reply; I wanted to do a bit of research and get you the best answer for your question. I spoke with Dave, who handles a lot of medical shoe fits, and asked him about your particular situation. He says that the 1260 is lighter and more flexible, but not quite as supportive as the 940. The Stabilicore posting on the medial side is also not as large and stiff as on the 940, which would make it a good pick if your feet are particularly sensitive. Most customers who use orthotics put them in a neutral shoe, whereas with the 940, you're in the strong stability / motion control category. If you'd like to stay in that category, a 1260 or an 860 would be a good step down to a softer shoe. - Thanks, Nathan
