Q: Would is be alright to run outside with the 890's in the winter time? Or would another shoe be preferable? Thanks.

Posted On: 12-01-03 By: Jordon

A: Hi Jordon - regarding the 890s and winter, the only things that should really keep you from wearing a running shoe in winter are the traction and the fact that they're made to vent heat (rather than trap it). The 890 has a lot of structure (as opposed to just mesh) so it would be a good choice for a winter running shoe, if you're just looking at the running category. My brother finished his RCMP Depot training in a pair of these in Regina this December and was pretty happy with them, so I'd say they're a good shoe overall. If you'd like a little more insulation and grip, I'd have a look at the Trail Running category. http://www.newbalancevancouver.ca/mens/outdoor-hiking-trail-running.html . - Thanks, Nathan
